Jennifer H. Lawrence

Among her professional accomplishments is Jennifer recently being selected as 2023 Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating. According to the Martindale-Hubbell website, the AV Preeminent Rating is the highest level of peer rating. This rating signifies that the lawyer’s peers rank them at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. This rating is reserved for no more than 5% of attorneys nationwide and only a select few law firms have such attorney on their team. Jennifer has been selected for over eighteen years to the Best Lawyers in America ©, a prestigious listing of the top 5% of the Nation’s attorneys, as a family lawyer.

Jennifer is a member of the invitation-only American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a national trial lawyers association. She is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the Chattanooga Bar Foundation, both of which are membership-only organizations. She is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Club. 

Jennifer was named as the recipient of Chattanooga’s “Best of the Best” Award as the top Divorce Lawyer presented by the Chattanooga Times Free Press for the past fourteen years. Known for her down to earth demeanor and excellent legal instincts, this is the fourteenth straight year that she has been selected as the top Divorce Lawyer. According to the President of the Times Free Press, there were tens of thousands of voters selecting the award recipients. Apart from Chattanooga’s “Best of the Best”, she ranked in the Top 10 for the Best of the Best Attorneys in the Family Law Attorney category for all of Tennessee. She is also ranked by Super Lawyers of America and Top 100 Lawyers in America for a Lifetime Achievement. 

In addition to her work as a divorce attorney, Jennifer has been lead or co-counsel in personal injury cases on behalf of the plaintiff. This includes one case that resulted in the collection of a jury verdict of 10.5 million dollars. She has also obtained settlements and tried employment discrimination cases that resulted in very large settlements or collected verdicts. One such case settled for $1 million and another case settled mid-trial for $800,000. 

A cum laude graduate of the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Ms. Lawrence is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. For the past six years, she has been a member of the Board of Law Examiners-District 3 Investigating Committee that interviews applicants seeking admission to the Tennessee Bar. 

Active in the community, she is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and has served on several civic or charitable boards, including the Orange Grove Board, the Chattanooga Speech and Hearing Board, the Mark Herndon Speech and Hearing Board, and the Mountain City Club Board.
